Confirmation Lessons

  • Holy Spirit Inspires

Congratulations! The Holy Spirit is encouraging you to start the OCIA process. What does this mean? First step is to meet with your sponsors and your instructor.

  • First Sacrament -- Baptism

It all begins with belonging to a family, the Christian family. As Catholics and as Deaf Catholics, we take time to deep “discern” the decision to become Christian. The early Christians prepared for two years under persecution (lions, burning at the stake, and crucifixions). Now days, the world still puts pressure to reject baptism. This First Step is to prepare for baptism, or to spend time remembering your earlier baptism.

  • Your First Eucharist

First Eucharist is a special moment. You “receive” Christ. The first disciples received Jesus at the Last Supper, and Jesus said, “THIS IS MY BODY!”. Jesus did not say, “This is bread that symbolizes my body.” We believe that what we eat, focus on, believe . . . we become. So, following Jesus, copying his life, praying/talking wiht Jesus . . . we will become like Jesus. We become Christians. In this lesson, we will remember our First Communion/Eucharist and review what this means as Catholic-Christians.

  • Sacrament of Confirmation

Confirmation is the gift of the Holy Spirit! This comes after learning about the gifts from the Holy Spirit, and your Discernment about how you can use your gifts from the Holy Spirit to bless your family, others in the community, and the church. Come Holy Spirit! Come and inspire your faithtul people.
